We have LOTS of folders!
Wednesday Folders (yellow), Homework Folders (orange), AR Folders (blue), Friday Folders (Red), and our Morning Work/Writing Folders (Purple). The Justin Bieber folders are my Loaner Folders.
Now that we have a full class (we got two new students, but not new to Warwick), we organized our purple Morning Work/Writing Folders. The kids were psyched (and the teacher was too as organization is my thing-imagine me clapping in excitement).
It's fancy because it has 4 pockets (Oooooh!). We labeled each pocket. The green part of the folder is for our class writing. Perhaps the best part though is this...

The Miscellaneous (Whatever!) pocket. The kids were having trouble with the meaning of miscellaneous, so we added the "Whatever!" to clarify. They can't WAIT to put something into that pocket.

Today the kids were all assigned their class numbers. We read a poem "Hug O'War" by Shel Sivlerstein and Down the Hill, a Frog and Toad story by Arnold Lobel. We wrote about the Frog and Toad story, and did a little Math. We also went to the computer lab! Mondays and Wednesdays are our Computer Lab days. Thanks to Katrina's mom, Michelle, for her help. It was a little bit crazy getting the kids loaded into the system, for our JiJi Math program, but we got it done! I will talk about what we are doing in the lab at Back to School Night, Sept. 20. Look for a small yellow note about BTSN Friday, as it is being done differently this year. I will be speaking about our classroom program from 7-7:30 that night. Please come! I've promised the kids a prize if they could get at least one person from their family to attend.
