New Things

This blog has now been introduced to the parents and students of my new class! Welcome! In this spot, you will get a glimpse of what we do during the day. I can post links or videos about things we are studying as well as pictures of things we are working on. I hope that you will check in during the week to see what we are up to.
Today was a new day! The start of a brand new school year.
We have new supplies! A tower of supplies!
There are new lunch boxes and backpacks! I personally LOVE the Hello Kitty lunch box! Looks like there's a jacket that needs to be hung up. :-)
There are new shoes, and new students to wear those new shoes!

And new folders! Lots of different folders. Which reminds me that you parents have homework tonight! Please fill out all of those forms in the yellow, Wizard folder, and return them to school, ASAP. Don't forget that there's a page (pg. 19) in the parent handbook that you need to complete (both sides) as well.

We had a great day today! The students were very excited (and quite chatty) this morning, but they were very calm after the first recess and lunch, and got down to business. I believe that they have ALL decided to return tomorrow!

'Twas the Night Before Second Grade...

'Twas the night before 2nd grade and all through the class,
Everything was in its place, including the Hall Pass;
The desks were arranged by the teacher with care,
In hopes that the students soon would be there;
Pencils, pens, crayons, and books of all kinds,
Are ready to help mold 28 little minds.

School starts tomorrow!

Back to School...Almost

Welcome to Room 24, Mrs. Crossman's Crew! It's going to be a great school year! I have been getting things ready for the students arrival on Wednesday! There's been lots of unpacking, lots of cleaning, lots of planning, and lots of reorganizing.
Books and pencils...check!
Hooks for coats and backpacks...check!
Floor space for engaging class discussions...check!

Table groupings assembled...check!

I just need my students, and for Wednesday to get here! Ready to rock and roll!

Feel free to leave comments, but just know that I have to approve all comments. If students and parents comment, please use only first names.

By the way, if you are a parent or student from my future class, WELCOME! I would like you to know that I will be posting pictures from class, but I WILL NOT be posting faces of students. We will be very creative about how we post our projects and events, so that we can protect the privacy of the students.
